The AQUILA Launcher

The AQUILA launcher is the RISE rocket fueled by student's visionary innovation as well as ethanol and nitrous oxide. It is propelled by our SCORPION annular aerospike-nozzle rocket engine.

Besides tanks, pipes, valves and the usual stuff you find inside a liquid propellant rocket, the AQUILA launcher carries scientific payloads sending back telemetry about the rocket performance and behavior. With the rocket itself in our scientific focus, we will perform supersonic suborbital flights testing for example the capability of our innovative aerodynamic thrust vector control approach.

The RISE rocket AQUILA further carries a parachute based recovery system to ensure gentle landings and post-flight research on the flight hardware.
